Description
The Understanding CIM and WBEM course provides an introduction to the basic concepts of the Common Information Model (CIM) and Web Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) technologies. Prior knowledge of CIM and WBEM is not required. Students will learn the significance of using an object-oriented data model to manage the enterprise. Students will also be exposed to techniques for modeling a product using CIM. Hands-on lab exercises are used to reinforce lecture topics and help the student to better understand the semantics of the CIM data model. NOTE: These lab exercises do not involve any programming.
Audience
The intended audience for this course include software engineers, architects, test engineers, technical writers and engineering managers who desire to understand the concepts for developing enterprise management products that use CIM and WBEM.

Students should have a working knowledge of the following:
