In response to
Vendor and End User request for educational tools about the Storage
Management Initiative (SMI),
the
Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA)
has created two separate Web Based Tutorials:
SMI Marketing Tutorial
The SMI Marketing
and Sales Tutorial objective
is to enable marketing, sales, press and analyst alike an
educational avenue and resource for learning the purposes and goals of the SMI. The intended audience for this tutorial is individuals who
desire to understand the general principles of the SMI.
SMI Technical Tutorial
The SMI Technical
Tutorial is designed for
users who have no prior knowledge of SMI and SMI-S 1.1.0. It is
designed for SMI application developers and SMI instrumentation
developers. However, this tutorial assumes that you have a basic
understanding of the Common Information Model (CIM) and Web Based
Enterprise Management (WBEM) concepts and principles.
