The Object Manager Adapter Subprofile is referenced by the Server Profile as an optional enhancement that allows the Client to manage the Object Manager Adapters of a SMI Agent. Specifically, a Client can do the following:

  • Enumerate all of the available Object Manager Adapters on the SMI Agent
  • Retrieve information about the type of Object Manager Adapter (e.g., Client, Provider or Indication Handler)
  • Determine the operational status of a Object Manager Adapter (e.g., “Stopped”, “Starting”, etc.)
  • Start or stop an Object Manager Adapter
