Storage Subprofiles

The SNIA Storage Profiles can reference the following storage specific Subprofiles as optional enhancements:

  • File System Manipulation Subprofile - allows a Client to manage File Systems on a NAS system - allows a Client to manage File Shares on a NAS system
  • File Export Manipulation Subprofile
  • Block Services Resource Ownership Subprofile - allows a Client to manage the ability to grant or deny access to block storage resources
  • Block Server Performance Subprofile - allows a Client to define a general mechanism for collecting and retrieving performance statistics for various types of block servers.
  • Copy Services Subprofile - allows a Client to manage local mirrors, remote mirrors, clones and snapshots
  • Disk Drive Lite Subprofile- allows a Client to retrieve information about the disk drives in an storage device
  • Disk Sparing Subprofile - allows a Client to manage spare logical disks that can be used in place of a failed component of a disk array
  • Extent Composition Subprofile- allows a Client to retrieve information about the allocation hierrarchy of storage pools, storage volumes and logical disks
  • Masking and Mapping Subprofile - allows a Client to manage the access to the LUNs attached to the target ports on a storage system using the Masking and Mapping mechanisms
  • Limited Access Ports Subprofile - allows a Client to discover information about the mechanisms of physical access used to transport physical media into or out of a storage library
