Zone Control Subprofile |
 |
The Zone Control Subprofile is referenced by Fabric Profile as an optional enhancement that allows a Client to manage zoning in a Fabric. A Zone in a Fabric is a set of devices that can access each other. A device in a Fabric may be configured into one or more Zones. A Zone Set is a group of one or more Zones. A Worldwide Name (WWN) is specified as an sixteen hexadecimal non-colon separated number (e.g., “20e401506fbb428a”). A Zone Member may be defined by its physical port number on the switch or by its Node WWN or by Port WWN. A Zone must have at least one Member.
Using the Zone Control Subprofile, a Client can do the following:
- Create or delete a Zone
- Create or delete a Zone Set
- Create Zone Member and add it to Zone
- Add a Zone to a Zone Set
- Remove a Zone from a Zone Set
- Add a Zone Member to a Zone
- Remove a Zone Member from a Zone
- Activate a Zone Set
- Request a lock of the Fabric to begin zoning configuration changes
